What is COPD?
COPD is an abbreviation for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. COPD is an incurable disease with servere shortness of breathe as main symptom. It is term used for several lung diseases such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema. In case of COPD the lungs are always filled with small inflammations. These inflammations cause permanent damage to the lungs. The lungs can no longer function completely normal and as a result people experience more difficulty breathing. COPD is common in elderly peopele but can also surface earlier in case of an inherited disease.
