Deviated septum

''Super comfortable, it really works for me with a diviated septum. Helps me sleep but they can't be used if you have a slight cold or runny nose as it slips out. Great quality, super soft and a great design. The price is high but as always you get what you pay for ''

''The two dilators are made of soft, hypoallergenic rubber and do not bother at all during the night. Regarding functionality, for me who have always had problems with breathing due to the deviated nasal septum, they assure me at least one open nostril and this means not being forced to necessarily resort to vasodilators to ward off apnea and consequent damage to the heart. Definitely satisfied.''

''I have previously tried other models, the ones that enlarge your nostrils and found them uneffective and unconfortable. This one is different, as the flaps reach higher in the nose and really help with blocked nose, by pushing the skin outward thus creatin more space. I have a deviated septum, sleep apnea and snore a lot a this helped. It is also much more comfortable to use, as it gives you a tickling sensation at most and after a while you don't feel it anymore. It is not magic, it's not going to solve all your health problems but it helps, and a little help every night goes a long way! If you tried the nostril ones and threw them across the bedroom after 20 minutes, give this one a go. You cannot really ask more from a tiny piece of rubber. Very satisfied.''

''I bought this article because, being equipped with a sleep apnea device, I noticed that, despite everything, I was having difficulty breathing. This was caused by a probable deviation of the nasal septum due to a fall on the edge of the bathtub during my bath. So I bought this nasal dilator that I have used since I received it, along with my breathing apparatus and to my great surprise, I found ease and comfort when breathing without feeling any discomfort due to the superposition of these two devices. Nevertheless, I recognize that I will have to consult an ENT specialist to solve this problem of deformation of the nasal septum which is for me an additional handicap to a normal and serene breathing.''

Allergies

''i suffer from a really blocked nose due to allergies, which always seems worse at night when trying to sleep. I have used breathe right plasters very successfully for a few years but these are expensive and i seem to have developed an allergy to them as they now leave the skin on & under my nose blotchy. I felt pretty desperate to find a replacement & think this is it. It felt a little uncomfy at first, but after persevering for about a week i am very happy with the product which definitely works & makes sleeping a lot easier. The dilator is easy to put in if you wet it first & stays in all night.''

''I have very small nose and chronic rhinitis, I have always breathed very badly through my nose, years ago I had surgery on the septum and improved a lot, but with the rhinitis at a minimum I feel congested again and I find it hard to breathe. Well, matter solved! It's perfect, I didn't have great expectations, but I was very surprised! Asthma

''I will order them again and again and hope they remain on sale here! I have had chronic allergic rhinitis for 40 years due to a crooked nasal septum and a nostril that is too narrow on one side, the constant shortness of breath has caused asthma-bronchial. Most of these nasal spreaders keep only the lower nasal concha free, which brings me nothing, - with this one I take the larger, because it reaches all the way to the top and keeps the too narrow nostril free and is stable enough for it!''

''Ok - it was a mistake - I thought I was getting the strips that go in the outside of the nose.... After the initial shock, I found that inserting them was really easy and..... for the first time ever I could breathe through my nose! - very important when you suffer from asthma and the cold weather makes it worse. COPD

''They work, they improve sleep quality. I can breath through my nose easier with them in, therefore I do not sleep with my mouth open and snore. Tried the trial pack, then went for a pack of the mediums... will certainly buy more, and would recommend to anyone who is having difficulty with sleep quality. ''

Obstructive sleep apnoea

''I have suffered from sleep apnoea for many years now and sleep with the aid of a CPAP machine. The problem is that the machine is only effective if the nasal passages are clear and I have been experiencing persistent nasal congestion for some time now. I was using decongestant spray almost every night and the NHS wanted to operate on my nose. Not being too keen on this, I tried all sorts of things including humidifiers, nasal irrigation and natural sprays all to limited effect. This little device is a revelation. It is comfortable, even when wearing the CPAP mask and has made a massive difference in my ability to breathe at night without resorting to nasal decongestant which is harmful if used over a long period. Try this before you spend a lot of money on more expensive alternatives.''

Pulmonary fibrosis

''Bought these for elderly friend who suffers from pulmonary fibrosis and needs to be on oxygen 24/7. One of his nostrils is very narrow and not letting enough air in but these seem to be doing a great job at fixing the issue and he can now breath in oxygen more easily.I would classify his nose passages as medium size and so the medium size dilator fits in perfectly. I'm tempted to try the large one to see if it would open the nostrils even more.The only downside is the extortionate price and hence minus 1 star. ''

''The Airmax saved me during my pregnancy. After the birth of our child, the mucous membranes had abated the same day. During pregnancy I had 9 months swollen nasal walls. No more night without Airmax. Once I forgot to take it with me, I almost panicked. Again and again, and even today I always have him with me.''

Headache

“I usually don't write about products and my experience with them, but for the Airmax I am making an exception. I fly from Holland to Spain on a monthly basis and time after time I get these tremendous headaches (A sinusitis feeling) when the plane starts to land. I went to an ear, nose and throat specialist, who told me to use Otrivin. This went well for a short period of time but after a while the symptoms started coming back. I went to the doctor again and an appointment was made to move my nasal septum, I was told that this would not be a guarantee that my headaches would disappear. A few days later I read in the Dutch 'De Telegraaf' newspaper about the Airmax and wondered if this could solve my problem while in the air. After having had contact with Airmax they sent me this little miracle. I didn't believe it, but the Airmax solved my problem. In the meantime I have made 4 flights and my headaches have disappeared! I was able to call the hospital and tell them that I didn't need the scheduled surgery. I think I did the right thing by telling you about my experience but seriously doubt that I am the only one who is so enthused!”

Using instead of nasal sprays

No nose surgery

''My experience with the Airmax is totally positive. My left nasal passage has become increasingly restricted over the years and I considered seeking surgery for it. But I know nasal surgery is incredibly uncomfortable and prone to infection. The narrowed area is quite high up in my nose so I did wonder if the Airmax would work. Fed up with weird sleep positions with one hand pushed against my face to open up my nose I decided to give it a try.I am delighted I did. Instant results! Both sizes work fine but the larger is a little bulkier in my nose so I think I'll stick with small. Even though the restriction is higher up, the Airmax cured the issue. I can breathe easily! What other reviewers miss out is the reduction in stress and frustration caused by difficulties breathing is also very, very welcome. I slept very well and did not find using the Airmax uncomfortable at all.Give it a go!''

''I was recently diagnosed with a nose abnormality which explains my 5 year history of snoring and dry mouth during the night. Basically, an operation is out of the question due to waiting lists on the NHS because of Covid, and also would not be guaranteed to work, so the consultant recommended possibly trying nasal dilators. I have been using a snoring app which gives me a 'snore score' and together with whether I feel like I've had a better night's sleep, I've been keeping a record of which strategies and devices work. I think I've purchased every one going - or I feel like I have! The small solid bucket ones, the adjustable ones, the basket ones and now these Airmax ones. Comfort and fit? Putting them in feels completely unnatural. If you don't push them in far enough, they are just an obstacle in the nose, but if you gently twiddle with each one to make sure that the flat 'paddle' is as far back as it will go, you suddenly feel very comfortable. It takes a bit of manouevering to get it right. I find the larger size doesn't move about too much and keeps my airways open much better. The other dilators worked a little, but some created a 'whistling' sound, which was annoying, and weren't sturdy enough and dislodged during the night. The adjustable ones were pretty good and opened my airways, but annoyingly only brought my 'snore score' down slightly. Whereas these Airmax ones worked all night through, and so far have brought my 'snore score' right down to between 15 and 20 (with no devices had averaged about 50). I'm delighted with it - as regardless of the snoring, I'm not waking all night with a dry mouth and I feel like I'm getting oxygen during the night. Can thoroughly recommend so far. My only criticism is that they are pricy and I feel like I'll need a few. ''

“Long time ago, maybe twenty years, I did a surgery to correct a problem in my airways. I hadn’t success because I going on sleeping very badly.
